Article I wrote 45 years ago...

I haven't written on my blog in a while, but it serves as a way for me to get things off my chest.

1. I wrote an article, based on a recent press release from Consumers Union, that various health-insurance providers were going to have to give their customers rebates. CU is a very reputable organization. But its numbers were apparently outdated--according to some health insurers. And one PR guy, from Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield, berated me for not checking with his organization! Nonsense. It was the PR guy's fault for not correcting CU--assuming he's right and CU was wrong. And I'm more ready to believe CU than any PR person.

2. Another article I wrote made the point that it's important for most people to have a lawyer. And I wrote that it's better to have a lawyer in a group than solo. There's evidence that solo practitioners--in medicine, at least--are more likely to screw up.
   A flood of complaints...from solo lawyers! Very nasty. I'll deal with one of them shortly.
